Dubbed "El Rey de Trabalengua" for his ability to recite tongue twisters, Mon Rivera was most influential as a trombonist. A master of the Puerto Rican styles of bomba and plena, he introduced the trombone as a frontline instrument for the emerging genre of Salsa.
