Money Mark

Biography

Boundary-breaking keyboardist Mark Ramos Nishita (or Money Mark) turns out eclectic sounds that cater to the open-minded listener. Initially adopted into the Grand Royal Posse as "the fourth Beastie Boy," Money Mark collaborated with the trio on such releases as Check Your Head and Ill Communication. Invited to join James Lavelle's Mo' Wax crew in the mid-1990s, Money Mark refined his musical talents as a solo artist by turning out creatively atmospheric records with a strong pop appeal. Stylistically, Money Mark's sound drenches mellow hip-hop beats in a showering of retro/vintage keyboard riffs, obtuse jazz noodlings, abstract vocal clips, dubby textures and funky soul effects.
