Always the prankster, Moodymann fleshes out this opus with scads of brief sketches designed to throw the casual listener off balance: found dialogue, jazz samples, even a 32-second reprise of his hit "Freeki MF" re-titled "U Don't Even Lyk This Song." (Fear not: The full version is included too.) Scrape below the surface, though, and the Detroit producer is in fine form, doling out moody (duh), late-night house jams galore. Unexpectedly, Lana Del Rey turns up on the bleary "Born 2 Die," and Junior Boys' Jeremy Greenspan lends his voice to the eerie, dissonant "IGuessuneverbeenlonely."
