Mortal Treason's beloved crosspollination of death metal and metalcore was short-lived. The band only put out two albums before disintegrating in 2005, and this 2004 debut proves the notion that less is sometimes more. While the entire nine-song set is strong -- thanks in large part to the soldier-of-Christ paroxysmal vocals of Seth Kimbrough and the inventive guitars throughout -- "Feed on the Weak" and second song "Walk Thru the Woods" are simply awesome. The title cut calls for "mass murder in the name of Christ." Hardcore.
