Released: Jan 1977

This mostly African-American band left their photos off the cover of their maybe-most-guitarful record, presumably to bypass apartheid-like tastes of late '70s AOR programmers. The album only got to No. 134 (their second highest charting ever), so the plan must not have worked. Still, it's cool how their cover of Smokey's "Mickey's Monkey" reminds people of Zep's "Custard Pie." And how "Hard Rock Lover" immediately follows "Dis Go Dis Way, Dis Go Dat Way," possibly the most blatant disco move by any '70s metal act. Sounds like they were Aerosmith fans too -- not a bad thing, in 1977.
