Biography
Parisian House luminaries Etienne de Crecy and Philippe Zdar formed Motorbass in 1994 and quickly gained street credibility for their House, disco and hip-hop sound. Their debut album Pansoul (1995) was widely praised in the British music press, winning Album of the month from Muzik magazine. With musical influences as diverse as downtempo jazz (de Crecy) and drumming in a speed metal band (Zdar), it is no surprise that their eclectic sound has drawn comparisons to Daft Punk and Basement Jaxx. Their musical dexterity is further demonstrated by their other projects -- Zdar teamed up with Boombass (Hubert Blanc-Francart) to form Cassius, and de Crecy gained notoriety with his excellent Super Discount compilations.
