Recorded in 1975, On Parole is Motorhead's true "first" album but their original label, MCA, didn't like the tapes so it didn't see release it until 1979, after Overkill and Bomber had already come out. This re-issue includes the album as well as four tracks from the same period produced by Dave Edmunds. Way more punk 'n' roll than metal, On Parole often sounds like a Heartbreakers album more than the blistering pummel-rock that would follow. "Motorhead," based on the totally awesome Hawkwind version, is fantastic. Check out "Iron Horse" too. Hell, it's all great.
