"In the Summertime" is one of the finer one-off tracks to come out of the 1960s and pretty much validates anyone who thinks a jug band is a good idea. Singer Ray Dorset just sounds like he's having fun, and the band dives into folk-rock, kazoo-blues and chunky acid rock with enthusiasm and skill. Best of all are the jangling "Lady Rose" and "Alright, Alright, Alright."
