Indie rap stalwart Murs teams up with hyphy architect Rick Rock for a song that is unlike anything you've heard from either performer. Rock's trademark bass slaps against gaudy synths as Murs extols the spirituality and fashion of his favorite hairstyle. Longtime fans will be tempted to scream sellout, and "Dreadlocks" isn't nearly as nuanced as Murs' best work, but this definitely works as pop music.
