Las 4 Estaciones Del Amor
Released: Jan 2008
Best known for her precocious alternative rock, Natalia Lafourcade surprised everyone when her follow-up to 2005's best-selling rock album was a classical suite. Lafourcade doesn't sing here, but you will hear her play the piano in four orchestral pieces that take their inspiration from Vivaldi's Four Seasons and the intense seasons of her adopted home in Canada. The four seasons Lafourcade explore here, however, deal with love in its transitions from full bloom to disillusionment and back again. It's an audacious move for a young artist -- and it makes for an intriguing listen.
