Malice In Wonderland
Released: Jan 1980
In the deliriously celebratory "Holiday," this 1980 album had technically Nazareth's second-biggest U.S. pop hit (after "Love Hurts"). Lots of the rest is interesting, if not exactly indispensable: Southern-rockish fugitive tale "Showdown at the Border" (though what Scotsmen know about Mexican/American boundaries is unclear), electronic-pulsed "Fast Cars," rock-disco "Talkin' 'Bout Love," a couple midtempos with noticeable guitar parts, ballad "Fallen Angel" that sounds as proto-hair-metal (with proto-Axl singing) as its proto-Poison title. Nothing real heavy, but lots that's quite tasty.
