Biography
McCoy, a platinum selling country act who had his biggest hits in the mid-1990s during the frenzy that ensued after Garth Brooks' mega success, is a bit of an anomaly. The Texas native is of partially Filipino descent, which is one thing that sets him apart in the virtually lily white world of country. The other is his willingness to experiment with combining country and R&B in the increasingly rigidly controlled confines of mainstream Nashville.
