The Jazz Singer (Soundtrack)
Neil Diamond
Released:
Jan 1980
Label:
Columbia/Legacy
Diamond's starring role in a misguided remake of The Jazz Singer was worth a thousand Golden Turkey Awards. But while the movie was a bomb, this soundtrack album was a smash, earning him hit singles for "America," "Hello Again" and "Love on the Rocks," a tortured view of heartbreak and confusion that stands up with his greatest songs. There are some other solid tracks here, including a couple of classic Neil rockers, but it's all about "Love on the Rocks."
