Bright Eyes' Conor Oberst and Neva Dinova's Jake Bellows have been the charter members of a musical mutual appreciation society for years. With this 2010 effort, they expand on a 2004 EP with four new tracks (highlighted by Bright Eyes' "Happy Accident"). Things really gel here; this is melodic, emotionally rich indie guitar pop with more hooks than 1950s underwear. Everything -- from hand-clappers like "Roller Skating" to the aching, acoustic "Spring Cleaning" -- stands tall. Oberst doesn't need the additional exposure, but Bellows' contributions will hopefully elevate Neva Dinova's profile.
