They may have begun in 1981 as group that was never meant to go beyond their own church, but No. 1 singles as well as numerous Dove nominations and songwriting awards were in NewSong's future. Despite their broad success, they are best known for the tearjerker tune "The Christmas Shoes" (the title track off their first Christmas album). Other popular tracks include "Arise My Love," "Miracles" and "Jesus to the World" (the latter from the Roaring Lambs compilation). Always looking to give back, they created their Winter Jam and Summer Jam events, which feature diverse lineups of Christian artists.
