Even before the penultimate "Song of Myself" -- 13 minutes of opera arias and recitations by actors of many ages and genders -- the seventh album by Finnish fairy-tale metal troupe Nightwish seems to go on forever. Not necessarily in a bad way, though -- at least if you like music boxes, gypsy dance interludes, goth-pop panpipes, Dead Or Alive hooks, Van Halen licks, piano torch jazz, old Disney soundtrack schlock and Carl Orff. Not to mention whimsical and/or scary bedtime stories about cobwebs, dragonflies, mermaids, spider tentacles and a naked old man who smooches mannequins in his attic.
