Noah and the Whale

This South London foursome splashed onto the neo-folkie scene in 2007. The band's first single, the airy "Five Years Time," was played heavily on British radio stations and was used in a television commercial for Saturn. The band traveled to Austin for the SXSW music festival in 2008 and was set to return to the States that summer to play Lollapalooza, but opted to play European festivals instead. Undeterred, Noah and the Whale's debut album Peaceful, The World Lays Me Down was released in the U.S. in September, 2008.
