You might remember Noah Georgeson from such album production credits as Devendra Banhart's Cripple Crow or Joanna Newsom's The Milk-Eyed Mender. He also produced Bert Jansch's The Black Swan. Georgeson's solo debut is heavily influenced by the panoramic, Americana soundscapes of vintage Lee Hazlewood recordings. Exquisite string arrangements swoop over acoustic arpeggios, mellotron woodwinds, sparse percussion, warbling organs and Georgeson's own haunted western inflections. This would make for a perfect soundtrack to a film adaptation of Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian.
