While successive generations of nu-metal bands fall deeper and deeper in love with the power ballad, Florida rockers Nonpoint remain true to the genre's roots in seething riffs and crunchy grooves. Miracle, the group's eighth full-length, is knee-deep in pathos and angst. Even when they do go soft, as on "Frontlines," Nonpoint constantly threaten to bludgeon listeners with a sudden spasm of high-decibel violence. Miracle's best track is the manic "Looking Away." It's a throwdown for sure.
