Unlike Sugar Ray and the Counting Crows, O.A.R.'s first knack isn't crafting radio-friendly ear candy. It's a trade they've had to develop over the last three, four years. All Sides sees the band moving away from its good-times college funk and into a piano rock hybrid seemingly inspired by Lifehouse, Pat Monahan, Switchfoot, etc. But no worries, all you old-school fans. O.A.R. hasn't totally abandoned groove research. "What Is Mine" and "Something Coming Over" are proof of this.
