Obituary came together in 2005 to record this highly impressive return to form, applying the formula that has always worked for them: doom-laden tempos, chugging fast breaks and unholy growls. They chose an apt name for their comeback effort; Frozen in Time could easily have come out at the height of the '90s death metal explosion. Thankfully we're talking about Obituary here, so even though it's a decade out of step, the album still takes the vast majority of modern heavy metal out behind the shed to beat the living crap out of it. This special edition features three bonus live cuts.
