After disbanding in 1997, Obituary came together in 2005 to record this highly impressive return to form. Applying the same formula that has always worked for them -- doom-laden tempos, chugging fast breaks and unholy growls -- Obituary aptly named their comeback effort. The album could easily have come out at the height of the death metal explosion of the mid '90s. Thankfully we're talking about Obituary here, so even though it's a decade out of step, Frozen In Time still takes the vast majority of modern heavy metal out behind the shed and beats the living crap out of it.
