Outside of genre architect DJ Screw and New Jack master Michael Watts, OG Ron C is perhaps the foremost ambassador of the H-Town subgenre of screw music, which slows down the music to impossibly lethargic speeds, accenting the percussive qualities and creating a sound that is at turns haunting, creepy and trippy. He has released well over a hundred mix tapes over the past decade (most notably his popular F- Action series); has twice been nominated for Justo's Dirty South Mixtape DJ of the Year award, and is Chamillionaire's personal DJ. Ron C first rose to notoriety as part of Watts' Swishahouse camp. Like Watts, Ron C experimented with chopping and screwing R&B albums, though this was much more of a focus for Ron C than it ever was for Watts. Recently, Ron C has branched out to form the Wreckin' Yard, which features himself, DJ lil steve and emcees Mr. Kaila, Kool Rod, Bg and Nik.
