A languidly scrambled take on Vietnamese pop, Les Chinoiseries never overplays its hand. Onra mines vintage Vietnamese recordings as his source material, delicately tweaking them to create musical windows into a world of music we can only dimly glimpse. He's peering through hip-hop blinds, but the picture that emerges is hazy and charming and distinctly Asian. Few songs clock in at more than two minutes; this is a pastiche that works best in its woozy whole.
