Rob Crowe's new outfit Optiganally Yours finds this ex-Heavy Vegetable artist up to his same old wonderfully innovative tricks. Written almost exclusively on a Mattel Optigan (a chintzy, keyboard-ish toy from the '60s with inserted modular cartridges), these insatiably catchy, perfectly constructed pop songs stand as further testimony that Crowe could turn weeds and a stick of chewing gum into a solid record.
