Otis Grand's swanky Electric Blues feature his smooth, jazz-like vocal stylings that translate well to his upscale nightclub blues songs. Best known for his out-of-print album He Knows the Blues, originally released in 1990, Grand enjoys covering songs by blues legends Joe Louis Walker, B.B. King, and Lou Baxter, among others. His playing finesse carries over to his band, an ensemble that have no problem utilizing the less-is-more philosophy that, when exercised, gives his sound the space to unfold into added, layered dynamics.
