Ozomati's debut bursts out of the speakers like it's lighting things on fire. Every track is like an electric jolt, as the L.A. collective sizzles through a multicultural host of musical styles: cumbia, son, Indian classical, flamenco, hip-hop -- all of it sutured together with Cut Chemist's buzzing beats. Chali 2na's sultry flow slows things down occasionally without losing any energy. By the time you reach meowing merengue "Chango," you'll be buzzing, too. And once you reach accordion-doused conjunto "La Misma Cancion," you'll be laughing along at the band's joke about "the same old song."
