Labradford's Mark Nelson gets all sultry on his solo/collaborative Pan-American records, blending the jazz of Fusion-era Miles Davis with a Dub-wise bass throb and relaxed songwriting. Spacey production adds a dark edginess to these hypnotic tunes. Lovely.
