Pantera's last bumpin' and grindin' offensive of mid-tempo headbang and mosh pit balladry has no time for setups or the personal musical expression Anselmo had been messing with on Far Beyond Driven and Trendkill. Nonstop topped-out groove, featuring little in between, Reinventing the Steel is just impossible to listen to without moving around, and the dudes come off as the funkiest rock band since ZZ Top. Fittingly, their last song is "I'll Cast A Shadow," about the influence they were having on music, a legacy now extending well into the present day.
