The Great Southern Trendkill
Released: May 1996
Dimebag Darrell's inescapable, mathematically sound groove metal; Phil Anselmo's indignant, and very loud, hatred of people he once trusted, fame, the world -- probably even bunny rabbits, everything -- and, uh, Dimebag Darrell, Dimebag Darrell and Dimebag Darrell! The guy was simply one of the most creative and soul-satisfyingly exciting guitarists that ever lived; check... every song. For some reason, this album is sometimes considered a weaker entry in Pantera's unassailable catalog. That means it still punches people in the face harder than 99.9% of everything else out there, even today.
