Flowers In The Dirt

Flowers In The Dirt by Paul McCartney
Released: Jun 1989
Finally! After all the soundtrack schlock and half-cooked oldies, this 1989 LP -- and its ensuing tour -- signaled McCartney's redemption. The set of smoothly polished pop songs includes a slew of tunes co-written with Elvis Costello, a solo by Floyd guitarist David Gilmour, and the efforts of top-drawer producers. Though the opener, "My Brave Face," marks the record's only minor chart success, the other great singles include "You Want Her Too," "Figure Of Eight," "Ou Est Le Soleil?" and the mid-tempo Carpe Diem anthem "This One." The record's 1993 remaster includes a trio of tacked-on extras.
