For ages, Paul Weller refused to look back on his career. But in 2001, he sat down with his acoustic guitar and revisited songs from every stage of his artistic life (including Jam and Style Council classics). The results were played on a tour and captured on a BBC special. With the tunes stripped, what stands out is that Weller was a brilliant singer-songwriter. "The Loved" is a gorgeous B-side, "Headstart for Happiness" is a neglected Style Council gem and "Wild Wood" sounds both like it has always existed and like a personal Weller tune at the same time. This concert is intimate yet charged with energy.
