Released:
Label: Yep Roc Records
This 4-CD box set collects 74 of the literally hundreds of tracks that Paul Weller cut for the BBC from 1990 to 2008. The first two discs put a spotlight on the singer-songwriter and resurgent rocker by offering up BBC studio sessions along with bits of stray commentary. Highlights include an acoustic "Amongst Butterflies," a beautiful band reading of the neglected "Time Passes" and a ragged rundown of "Cold Moments." The two live discs kick off with a startlingly fresh "My Ever Changing Moods" and other soulful cuts (including a rousing "Broken Stones") before "The Changingman."
