Released:
Label: Int'L Latin America
For a Paulina release, Ananda sounds a bit dialed down: even the album's first single, "Ni Una Sola Palabra," lacks the feisty, catchy pop effervescence of her earlier hits. But that's not a bad thing: we get to spend more time with Rubio's smoky, expressive voice on lovely songs like "Aunque No Sea Conmigo," "No Te Cambio" and the excellent "Nada Puede Cambiarme." When she gets around to the dance pop, it's quirkier than we've ever heard it from her: both "Hoy" and "Lo Que Pensamos" bring slanted beats to the dance floor.
