Christmas With Peggy Lee

Christmas With Peggy Lee by Peggy Lee
Released: Sep 2006
Label: Capitol Records
For her 1960 Christmas release, Peggy Lee puts a gauzy, though often upbeat, spin on beloved holiday standards. But Peg also wrote a number of unique snowbound tunes for the set, including "Don't Forget to Feed the Reindeer" and the downright suicidal "Song at Midnight," which makes for a decidedly unique listening experience. Why Capitol replaced the original album art with a photo of Peggy Lee looking like a sympathetic serial killer from Nip/Tuck is anybody's guess.
