Brooklyn's finest indie Renaissance dudes deliver their Raymond Carver rock in an intimate setting, with singer Billy McCarthy coming on like Nick Cave captured on a small stage, yet thankfully not quite so obsessed with the dark side. All four songs also appear on the group's opening salvo from 2007, Anytown Graffiti. As is the case with that record, the highlights here are the evocative "The Trouble With River Cities" and the crashing, frenetic version of "Cavalry" in which they turn Brian Eno's "Burning Airlines Give You So Much More" inside out.
