Biography

Smartly sidestepping the tall shadow of her Punk past, Penelope Houston has crafted a fresh musical identity with her solo material. By employing folk instruments such as melodica and autoharp, Houston's Post-Punk music broadens the usual Singer-Songwriter vocabulary. Her songs' thematics remain shrouded in the dark corner of the coffeehouse, but her graceful soprano voice balances the light/heavy meter in a way that belies her prior raucous persona.
