Not surprisingly, Pete Yorn's poignant-yet-assertive indie rock appeals to soundtrackers; since 2000, he's had songs appear in movies as diverse as Spiderman to Shrek II. It's easy to imagine "For Us" -- with its slowly unfolding buildup, cinematic strings and Yorn's plaintive vocals warning, "I know I'll never leave you, not in L.A." -- backing the climactic, rain-spattered scene between Orlando Bloom and Kate Hudson in their next pre-midlife crisis dramedy.
