Nadir's Big Chance

Nadir's Big Chance by Peter Hammill
Released: Mar 1975
Label: Virgin Catalogue
Hammill was a prog master when hanging with Van Der Graaf Generator. When flying solo, however, the dude explored a fusion of avant-folk and barb-wired glam rock. The Sex Pistols cited Nadir's Big Chance as a huge influence, and that makes total sense. Hammill, going by the name Rikki Nadir, delivers one of art punk's most classic relics. Sure, he's rocking hard, but pay close attention to all the other stuff (from sci-fi sax to throbbing bass) swirling about his seething voice and nasty axe.
