Label: Image Entertainment
Recorded over two nights in May of 2006, Live at the Warfield Theater is both a time capsule and a rejuvenation of some of the Dead's finest tunes. Aided by a stellar, jazz-influenced band that included guitarist John Scofield, singer Joan Osborne, Greg Osby on sax, and several other veteran players, Phil takes on Dead classics like "Mr. Charlie," "They Love Each Other" and "The Wheel" into fresh and unexpected territory. Space fans: Check out disc two's languid, exotic version of "Dark Star." Heady.
