Conceived as the soundtrack for a film, Obscured By Clouds seems a bit uneven at first, with its short instrumental throwaways and general inability to hang together as a record. But when you get to "Childhood's End," with its trademark chunky rhythm, all is forgiven. That fuzz bass sound that turns up everywhere is also pretty great.
