Heavily influenced by Royal Trux and underground icon Jim Shepard, Kevin DeBroux (a.k.a. Pink Reason) makes old school indie rock: awesome tunes cooked in murky vibes and lo-fi squall. It's the kind of stuff only ever made in disheveled bedrooms after midnight and before dawn. Cleaning the Mirror, however, is no retro trip. DeBroux's wavering moan and melted grooves speak of authentic alienation and emotional distress. This music is really kind of a bummer, but that's a good thing for us.
