Popa Chubby

Popa Chubby's guitar sound is soaring and explosive, generally starting with soulful blues licks and working its way up to stratospheric Hendrix psychedelia. A member of the new breed of Okeh blues revivalists, Chubby is first and foremost a showman. He thrives on stage, winning numerous competitions and bowling over audiences with his massive sound and large demeanor. Chubby's albums showcase different aspects of his playing, from his acoustic songwriting to his from-the-gut singing (which sounds similar to fellow big-blues-man John Popper), always concentrating on his excellent guitar-slinging skills.
