Port Blue

Port Blue is the alter ego of Adam Young, better known as the emo-leaning electro-pop sensation Owl City. In contrast to Owl City's skittering, sparkling electronic pop, Port Blue explores more sedate tempos and dusky orchestration, veering between ambient music and simple neo-classical sketches. Port Blue's melodic sensibility often recalls a less virtuosic George Winston, drawn in bold, unabashedly emotive piano lines, but Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada's influence can be felt in rolling breakbeats and plangent synthesizers.
