Premature Ejaculation

A Noise side-project initiated by Rozz Williams, Premature Ejaculation came as something of a shock to Christian Death fans expecting to hear more of the same. Initial recordings were primitive, industrial Ambient in the vein of NON, Throbbing Gristle, Smegma, and other bands reflecting the bleak, constrained landscape of disconnected modernity. Jarring sound and video imagery turned Gothic indulgence on its head, waking its victims up with harsh fantasy-cum-reality, rather than sinking into self-reflection. Logistical issues necessitated Williams' artistic input to be primarily visual, so the musical duties were actually shouldered by Chuck Collision and supportive locals from San Francisco to the band's stomping ground of Los Angeles. Premature Ejaculation's sound was primarily derived from Chuck Collision's installation pieces, giving the project an element of extreme performance while bestowing its tortured, metallic sounds and brittle atmospheres with an uncomfortable immediacy. Though the project has continued to produce material, Williams sadly ended his own life on April 1, 1998.
