The Dolls are often mocked for their history, but we think their background as a burlesque troupe/sales gimmick/front for Nicole might have something to do with what makes album no. 2 work. Let's break it down. They sing like dancers: Domination is meticulously choreographed, every track dancefloor-ready. They are more brand than band: Indeed, and they've spit-shined some very polished merchandise like "Whatchamacallit" (quirky beats courtesy of Timbaland). And yes, Nicole dominates Domination, but with pipes like those she displays on the fierce "In Person," she oughtta.
