Volume 3 in Queen's boxed set series 40 collects the albums released between 1984 and '95: The Works, A Kind Of Magic, The Miracle, Innuendo and Made In Heaven (the last of which came out after Freddie Mercury's death). At this point in their career, the band was preoccupied with filtering their audacious art rock through disco and Eurovision-tinged pastiche. Old school fans don't dig this stuff -- too fluffy. Yet there's some killer pop here, including weirdo club jammers such as "Machines (Or 'Back to Humans')," as well as all manner of Beatleseque lushness (see "The Miracle").
