This record is a stellar mix of jazz, funk and soul instrumentals interspersed with vocals. To add to the hodgepodge, Q even includes his superior Hollywood themes ("Ironside," "Anderson Tapes" and "Hikky Burr" from the first Bill Cosby show). He splits the arranging duties with Marty Paich and even sings on a couple of spots (his soulful vocals come up on an extended jam on a cover of "What's Goin On"). Good fun throughout, with the final number showcasing the evolution of the guitar, from country blues to acid rock and back again.
