Lampa's sound is all grown up. Her self-titled LP takes one heck of a leap from where she left off, which was already a good place. There's a surprising rock edge in her funky, emotive pop, and ballads like "No Other One" even detour into alternative. Vocals are raspy, sincere and weighty, with strong accents of Christina Aguilera. Robert Randolph visits on "Good Life."
