This second full-length from the Greek black metal band is a throwback to the heydays of the Norwegian scene, with purely infernal lyrics, choked vocals and a fluttering wall of guitar. It even sounds tinny as hell, just the way black metal is supposed to sound. While the songs may all run into each other, the idea here is to blast through with a nonstop sonic assault. That said, the title cut tosses in some tempo changes, even veering into thrash metal territory at the bridge. Ravencult prove there's a place for true black metal years after the original scene disintegrated.
